Frame Measurement

Why accurate measurements are important

Clear and comfortable vision requires a combination of the correct prescription, quality lenses and precise measurements to ensure the lenses are placed correctly in front of your eyes. A small measurement error of even 1mm can significantly alter your vision and cause symptoms such as double vision, distortion, blur or headaches.

We can take our fitting measurements manually and with our new tablet based Lenswear-I device. By taking a picture of the adjusted frame on your face, this software can capture precise measurements to allow us to customize your prescription to how the frame sits on your face.

The Lenswear-I precisely measures:

  • Monocular distance and near PD (pupillary distance)
  • Optical centre
  • Pantoscopic tilt
  • Multifocal segment height
  • Vertex distance
  • Faceform wrap

These measurements are taken while our glasses fitters stand over one meter away from the patient.
